Kyle had no reason to believe that the young girl's sexuality would be the ultimate focus of the interview. It's only in hindsight that we can say he should have preemptively canned it. It's not even about the revelation of rape, it's that Sandilands agreed to take part in a segment where a 14 year old girl was to be questioned about her sex life. He could have stopped that, by refusing to take part, and he didn't. I think he's just as much at fault as the appaling mother. Just because reactionaries like Bolt and Hamilton disapprove of this stunt doesn't make it better. It was a clear case of bullying the girl. Sure, Bolt is a professional bully and a hypocrite. But lots of people in a better moral position than Bolt also think this stunt was a horrible thing to inflict on any young girl, no matter what her sexual history.
